What are my Weingarten Rights?
You have the right to have a union representative present at any meeting that could lead to you being disciplined or have an impact on your working conditions. This is an affirmative right, meaning you have to be proactive about requesting representation.
Use this wording to request representation to your supervisor:
“If this discussion could in any way lead to my being disciplined or terminated, or affect my personal working conditions, I respectfully request that my union representative be present.”
Next, get in touch with one of the chapter’s Stewards and CC the Chief Steward to ensure you get help ASAP.
