At the union negotiations meeting yesterday, which President Pelton attended, management submitted numerous counter proposals, including compensation, benefits, parental leave, and performance evaluation. The union accepted the proposals, which means we have tentatively agreed on our first contract! The union negotiations team would like to thank our fellow members for all of the support you’ve given us over the past 20 months.
What happens next, you ask? The union and management will work together to put all of the proposals into one final document. The union will hold informational meetings soon to share the contract highlights with members and to answer questions. Then all members will be invited to vote to ratify the contract.
Just a teaser of highlights for you: No merit pay! Guaranteed wage increases through 2021! Sick bank! Commuting subsidy!
Stay tuned for details on informational meetings and please reach out to any negotiations team member with questions.
